Happy new year every one!! Today is a special day for Donte, it's his birthday!! he's 11 years old today and he very exicited about it. He's doing very well,his last heart biopsy that was done December 18th 09 was negative for rejection, however, he did develop some side effects from possiable the anesthesia and spend 2days in the hospital. This was his first stay over since he was sent home,he needed to stay for observation after he had an episode of vomiting blood, the Dr's just wanted to make sure that he was not having any GI problem. This Christmas was bitter sweet, but we're so proud of Donte and his strength and courage, he continue's to take a high dose of the anti rejection medicine and still get the insulin 4x daly, every now and then he gets frustrated with all the medicine but, we just continue to remind him how inportant it is. We had a very good Christmas,just to have him with us was all we needed but for him, Santa and his elfs was good to him and he was very happy and that made me smile.

Donte continues to do well after his transplant 3 months ago, his last heart biopsy was done June 4th and again no rejection, he's due for another biopsy July 9th. He's also taking a lower dose of his steroids and that's helping his glucose level, he still get the insulin before every meals and at bedtime, he much better now at getting his shots and is now a pro at takings all his pills, he's on a very high dose of one of the rejection medication (6pils in the AM and 5in the PM)continues to do blood work and next week he will start doing bloodwork every 2weeks instead of weekly. He has alot more energy! and is riding his bike, after I put every kind of protection you can think of on him including his helmet,it took him a while to get his balance and we took off his training wheels he was exicited about it and i'm soooo happy for him, my phone rang yesterday while I was driving home frome work and it was him, "mommy I rode my bike today again" with so much exicitement in his soft spoken voice, I told him how happy and exicited I was for him. He will be doing some summer school and his teacher will be Ms Thomas. Thanks to everyone at Lake park Elementry who made it happen and to the Collier school board for approving summer home bound. I will have Debbie upload some of his class party pictures from June 2 for everyone to see. Thanks for all the support and prayers for Donte and lets continue to pray for him so that he may thrive with progress and suprise us all. Lots of love everyone!
